Coffee Break - Steff Bomb

Hi!!!  Welcome to this week's coffee break!  I have a new crafty hero and I wanted to tell you a little about her.

Etsy had a feature on Steff Bomb a few days ago and I fell in love with her shop!  She is very talented.  It was so encouraging to know that she just started sewing a few years ago and she is already so good at what she does and so successful.  This gives me a lot of hope for my own sewing.  I know I have a lot to learn, but I believe that I will get there.

I was so happy to see that she posted a video of how she makes a plushie.  I love to see how other people work.  And it's really cool to see when they make things in a similar way to me.  It means I might actually kind of know what I'm doing!  ;-)

These are just a couple of the awesome things in her shop.  You should definitely check out the entire shop and website to see more.

Twanga Twanga Twanga

I thought this was a real banjo until I read the description.  I couldn't figure out why she would be selling a banjo in her shop! Oh...because it's not real and the entire thing is hand sewn!!!  WOW!!!

Ice Cream Sammy

Yummy!!!

Carrot

I had to have the carrot!

I even love the way she packages her buttons!

See??  Isn't she great?  I hope to have work as good as hers someday.  ;-)

Thanks for stopping by for a little coffee break time!

One eskimO

Since I decided at the last minute to start posting music on Mondays, this post seems a little out of place.  Oops.  ;-)  Oh well.  I planned this one on Sunday so I'm just going to go with it.  This post is only partially about music anyway.  It's also about some really amazing animation!

Have you heard of One Eskimo?  Probably.  I'm so behind the times these days.  I used to know about all the new music coming out.  I just can't seem to keep up with stuff these days!  I'm too busy!  I meant to write this post a few months ago when I first bought their CD, but I talked myself out of it.  I decided I liked it enough to share now, so here we go!

One Eskimo is a group of musicians from England.  They have an album called (you guessed it) One Eskimo.  The unique thing about this album is that it's also a visual album.  What does that mean?  Well, they created a character called One Eskimo and gave him a story through their music.  Here's where the amazing animation comes in.  It is so beautiful!

Here are a couple of the animations from the album.  Sorry for the commercial at the beginning.  It was really hard to find the videos online.  Trust me.  It's worth the wait.  :-)

My Morning Soundtrack

A couple of months ago I wrote a blog called My Morning Soundtrack.  It was just a fun post to share the great songs I heard on my commute to work that day.  There were some really great songs!  Well, it happened again today!  It's a great way to start out the day...especially on Monday!  I love Music Monday on Twitter.  It's so fun to post music I love and see what everyone else is listening to.  I thought it might be fun to do something like that on my blog, but with a little twist.  Instead of choosing one artist or song I will post the songs I heard that day.  This way I get to post a variety of songs every week.

I am not a music snob at all.  I don't care how cheesy it is.  I mean, I love musicals!  Need I say more?  If it sounds good then I like it.  You'll see!  ;-)  I'll do this for a few weeks and see if I think it's really worth it.  If not, then I will just go ahead and have a regular Music Monday post.  :-)

Since I thought of this idea on my way to work today you get two posts to read today!  I already posted some pictures from my walk in Stagecoach Park on Saturday before I left for work.  What?  You didn't see them??  Well, scroll down and have a look after you listen to the songs!  :-)
So, here we go with week one!  This is what I listened to on my drive to work today!

Michael Jackson - Man in the Mirror

Michael Jackson - Man In The Mirror

Michael Franti - The Sound of Sunshine

The Beatles - Revolution

Talking Heads - And She Was

Broken Bells - The Ghost Inside

The Cranberries - Zombie

The Mamas & The Papas - I Saw Her Again

Stagecoach Park - Adventure Two

On Saturday afternoon my mom and I set out on another adventure in Stagecoach Park.  I needed to take my picture for the day and I thought it would be nice to get outside and go for a walk.  I could only use one of the pictures for my 365 Project so I thought I would share a few of my favorites that didn't make the project today.
Enjoy!

You may have noticed that I like photographing flowers.  ;-)  They're pretty!

This bird was so cute!  It's like he was posing for me.

It was so hard to choose between this picture and the one I ended up using for my 365 Project.  I really liked both of them.

Secret Life of Suckers

Hello, everybody!  I just wanted to stop by to share this cute animation short series I saw a couple of months ago.  I've been wanting to share it for a while but I kept forgetting.  Oops.  ;-)

I first saw this show on Disney XD.  Yes, I am 28 and I watch the Disney Channel.  It's awesome!  I love Phineas & Ferb!  Anyway, they showed this short animation called The Secret Life of Suckers and I loved it!  It's animation with plushies!!!  It doesn't get much better than that!  I wish I could find all of them online to watch, but I haven't been so lucky yet.  This is one of my favorites from the episodes I found.

The Bag

This show kind of makes me think of Mr. Bean but with plushies!  Sounds perfect to me!  :-)

Okay, I have to go get ready for church now.  Just wanted to stop by and wish you a very happy Sunday!

Fun with Felt - iPhone Case

I love my iPhone.  I don't really know how I lived without it.  I use it for everything!  I decided iPhones needed something pretty as a thank you for being so wonderful.  So, of course I had to make a felt iPhone case!  :-)

I just cut a little flower and leaves out of felt.  I added a cute little button for the center of the flower!  Then I just stitched the flower on with a regular stitch and the leaves with a blanket stitch.  I used a back stitch to sew the stem.  I sewed the whole thing together with a blanket stitch.  I used two layers of felt so make it thicker and to protect the iPhone better.  The inside of this one is white.

This case is big enough to hold an iPhone with a cover on it (since most people have some sort of cover on their phones).  I made a pattern for a smaller version that holds a phone without a cover on it, too.

Before I made this case I made a practice case with cheaper felt to try out the size. It was a little too short so I made some adjustments before I made the final pattern. It was fun figuring out the pattern by myself.

This iPhone case has already been sold!  I'm so shocked that someone wanted to buy something I made!  My mom bought this one to give her friend for her birthday.  She said she really liked it!  :-)  My mom ordered another one to give as a gift next month, too.  I'm so excited!  I think I'll make these for when I try to participate in craft fairs next year.  They are easy to make, useful and super cute!  I may try to make some cases for other phones, too.

Now I just have to decide what I want the next one to look like.  Guess I should get back to work!  ;-)

365 Project - Week Twenty-Two

I survived this week!!!  I don't really know how and I am exhausted, but I survived!  This has been such a busy and stressful week for me.  I'm so glad it's over!  It was really hard to find time to take pictures in the middle of all the craziness, but I think I actually got some nice pictures this week.  It's nice to end the week on that happy note.  :-)

Here is week twenty-two!

Day 148
I wasn't sure what I wanted to take a picture of on Saturday so when I was driving home from running errands I stopped to take a sky picture and found this little purple flower.

Day 149
More goats!  I had no idea there were so many goats so close to my house!  These are my favorites.  They are usually behind a really tall fence where it's too hard to get a good picture.  Not Sunday!  They were in a field with a shorter fence so I could take pictures.  They were very curious about me.  I stayed and took pictures for a while...until one of them decided he needed a close up view of me!  Then I went home.  ;-)

Day 150
I took this picture on the walking trail at my office.  It didn't turn out great.  I couldn't get a very good angle.  I just thought it would be pretty.  Since we have had so much rain there's actually water in the stream.

Day 151
These yellow flowers are all over the place!  I finally pulled over and took a picture on Tuesday.  It was even prettier close up!

Day 152
I had to take my picture for Wednesday on my lunch break at work since I had a babysitting job that night.  I'm so lucky we have a little walking trail with a pretty little stream running through it.  I just went for a little walk to see what I could find.  This moss was so bright!  I had to have a picture!

Day 153
Since the weather has been so nice this week I have been spending most of my lunch breaks sitting at the benches on the walking trail at work.  I decided to take a few pictures since it was so pretty.  It's kind of the theme of the week.  It's a very nice escape to have a pretty place to walk during a stressful work day.  :-)  I love these little purple flowers.  There are all over the place!

Day 154
Today was very stressful at work!  So, on my lunch break I went for a walk to get away and think about something else for a while.  I saw this cute little flower so I took a picture.  It was nice to get out of the office and I got my picture for the day so I had one less thing to worry about.  YAY!  :-)
