Let's Create! Pottery

This weekend a friend came to visit and she told me about an iPhone app called Let's Create!  Pottery.  I love it because I get to do something creative while I'm playing games.

In this app you make pottery.

Fire it

Decorate it

And sell it to make money to buy fun new colors and decorations.

You can also do challenges where they give you a picture of a piece of pottery and you have to try to match it.  It's harder than you might think.

There are three different versions of the game so it's perfect for any budget.  You can start with the free version and work your way up so the game stays new and fun!

Aren't these awesome?  I found them on the Pottery Community website.  You can submit pictures of your pottery there.  They even have contests where you can win prizes!

I'm off to create some more pottery.  Have a great day!

Little Printer

Have you heard of Little Printer?  I just saw it yesterday on Pinterest.  It is so cute!

This is a little printer made by BERG Cloud that links up to an app on your iPhone or Android phone and prints a tiny newspaper on receipt paper for you.  You subscribe to the things you're interested in and get a happy little newspaper.  :-)  You can print reminders for yourself like birthdays from contacts or to do lists.  You can also print news you are interested in and fun puzzles!  It even links up with your foursquare account so you can visit the places your friends like.  There are so many fun things you can add to your tiny newspaper.

This product will be released some time in 2012. I hope it's affordable because I would love to have one to play with.

I love discovering fun new apps and gadgets for my iPhone.  Have you found any cool new apps recently?

Fisheye for Free

I really want to have a fancy camera one day so that I can buy fun lenses like the fisheye lens.  Since I can't afford one right now I have to settle for the iPhone app version.  I did a search for free fisheye apps first (I always try free first).  I found an app called Fisheye for Free.  I used it on a few of the pictures I had on my phone.

It's pretty fun.  It's not the best but it'll work for playing around with my pictures for now.  Most of the pictures I used were taken with Hipstamatic to give them an even more fun look.  I will definitely be researching other apps that aren't free to see if there is anything that works better, but for now I'm happy with this fun little app.  I have a couple of fun ideas for it.  :-)

This is a video called #CIRCLEPIC.  It's a fun project that Bryan Brinkman did on Twitter a couple of years ago.  He asked his followers to tweet photos of circles and tag them with #circlepic.  Then he made this film out of the pictures.  I thought it was a fun idea so I sent in a couple of pictures.  Hehe!
It's going to be another busy weekend for me.  Lots of crafty fun.  Be sure to check back here because I have a fun surprise for you!  :-)

What are your plans for the weekend?

City Swatch (Let's Try This Again)

A few of you may have seen a post I wrote a couple weeks ago about CitySwatch but it was tragically lost when Blogger went down.  It wasn't really an important post or anything but I felt that my blog was incomplete without it.  I'm sure that sounds silly.  Even though today is my "off" day on the blog I decided I would just write a little post about this fun app...again.

CitySwatch is an iPhone app designed by Art Alliance of Austin.  The concept is very simple.  Take pictures of things you see around Austin.  The fun part comes when you get to name the color!

Then you share your picture in the Art Makes a City gallery

This is my favorite picture in the gallery

Doesn't it sound like fun?  I can't wait to have a little time to wander around Austin and take lots of pictures.  I miss taking pictures.  It's hard to with such a busy schedule these days.  But with this app, I'm definitely going to have to make time soon.

I almost forgot to tell you guys the best part about this app!  It's free!!!  If you live in Austin and have an iPhone you NEED to get this app!  It's a great excuse to enjoy the beautiful city.

Loupe

Have you heard of the Loupe app for iPhone?

It's an app where you can tag colors in your pictures to create color swatches and write notes to go with the pictures.  I was thinking that this might be a good app for taking pictures of colors or other things you see that inspire project ideas.  Even if you don't use it to tag colors you can tag the picture with a note about the project idea so you can refer back to one place when you are ready for that project.  You would have your idea and the colors you want to use in the project right there with you in one place.

I haven't really used it yet.  I've only tried it out with pictures I've taken on my phone but I think I'll give it a try this week and see if I like it.  I'll write another post soon to let you know what I think.

Have any of you tried this app yet?  Do you know of any other cool apps for crafty stuff?  I'd love to hear about them.

p.s.  If you're interested in trying this app now would be a good time to buy it.  It's on sale for $0.99!  :-)
