Happy Friday!

Do you have any big plans for your Friday night?  I do!

I will be spending my night relaxing on the couch and watching this...

I love Whale Wars!  Don't ask me why.  I really don't know.  I just found it one night when I was flipping channels during the first season and I have been watching ever since.  It's one of my favorite things about summer!  :-)

In case I don't sound nerdy enough for you...I'm so excited that Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution is coming back tonight, too!  Yay!!!  Both shows are on at the same time.  This is one of those days that I am very thankful for my DVR!  Hehe!

Have a great night!  I'll be back tomorrow with a new project to show you.  :-)

Music Monday - ELO

Before we start...

Be sure to check out my post on Punk Projects from yesterday!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I recently started watching Doctor Who (I know...sad that I JUST started watching it) by recommendation of my friend Renee.  I am in love!  This show is awesome!  I just started a few weeks ago and I'm already on the third season.  I tend to get carried away when I start a new show and love it.  :-)  I never thought I would ever be someone who would watch shows that were set in space or have monsters or whatever, but now those are some of my favorite shows to watch.  I love anything Joss Whedon does and now I'm hooked on Doctor Who!  Pushing Daisies is one of my favorite shows, too.  It doesn't really fall into this category but I still love it so I'm telling you anyway.  It's my blog.  I can say whatever I want!  ;-)
This weekend I watched an episode of Doctor Who called Love and Monsters and it features Mr. Blue Sky by ELO.  This has always been one of my favorite songs.  It's one of those songs where everything stops when it comes on and you just have to dance around until it's over.  I love it!  So, long story short....I give you Mr. Blue Sky.
So, stop what you're doing and start dancing!!
When you're a kid they tell you let's all grow up.
 get a job.
 get married.
 get a house.
 have a kid
and
that's it.
The truth is the world is so much stranger than that.
So much darker
and
so much madder
and
so much
better...
Happy Glee Day
Today is the season premiere of Glee!  I'm so excited!
Last time I wrote about Glee I talked about some of the many things I loved about Glee.  Today, in honor of the premiere of season two I thought it would be fun to talk about some of my favorite musical guest stars from season one.  Season one was a musical theater nerd's dream come true.  Some of my favorite people were on the show.
I first learned about Kristin when she was in the revival of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.  She played Sally Brown and she was magnificent!  Some of her other more famous roles have been Glinda in Wicked and most recently Promises, Promises.
I have been a fan of Idina Menzel since her Rent days.  Her voice in Wicked gives me chills.  I don't even have words to describe her talent.  She is amazing!
Oh, Neil.  What do I say about Neil?  He can do no wrong.  We have all known him for years.  He has worked in musical theater on broadway, but one of my favorite Neil projects is (of course) Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog!  Did you know that he directed Rent recently, too?  Makes me love him even more!
I know Jonathan Groff from Spring Awakening.  I love that show!  It was so original and the original cast was such a talented group!  He worked with Lea Michele in that show.  He also worked with one of my favorites, John Gallagher, Jr.!
Okay, I know he's not a musical theater guy and he's not technically a guest star.  He's more like a regular cast member.  But Mike O'Malley deserves a moment for being so great on this show.  His scenes with Kurt are some of the best parts of the series.
I think I'm ready for the show now!  :-)
Have a very happy Glee Day!!!
Spotlight on Glee
Tonight is the spring premiere of Glee!!!  I'm so excited!!  I thought I would share with you a few of the reasons why Glee is one of my favorite shows.
{both glee logos-we heart it}
How do I love Glee?  Let me count the ways...
1.  The Music: I love how Glee takes popular music and uses it to tell their story.  They always put a little Glee twist on it to make it something so special.  It's like I'm watching a tiny, wonderful musical every week.  I love it!!!  I especially love the big performance numbers.
This is one of my favorite performances so far.  They took the performance video down so I couldn't post it.  You still get the idea.
2.  Amazing guest starsKristin Chenoweth, Neil Patrick Harris, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff...just to name a few.
3.  The kids who don't fit in anywhere else finally find a place where they belong: I can't relate to that at all!  ;-)
4.  Dancing football players: That's just funny!  It was like watching Beyonce herself...sort of.  It's the only kind of football worth watching!  :-)
"Hi, I'm Kurt Hummel and I'll be auditioning for the role of kicker."
5.  This show is a musical theater geeks dream come true!!!  Not only do they play amazing show tunes, but a lot of the stars and guest stars have backgrounds in some of the best musicals.  They have been in shows like Rent, Spring Awakening, Wicked, Les Miserables, Hairspray...I'm just getting started!
6.  Joss Whedon is directing an episode!!!  There's really nothing else to say.  That's awesome enough!!
7.  Lea Michele is simply amazing!  She has so much talent and one of the most beautiful voices around.  And I'm sure I'm not the only one totally geeking out over the fact that Lea and Jonathan are reuniting on the show...right??
And the list goes on and on...
If you haven't watched Glee before, you are missing something really special.  This show will make you laugh, cry, sing and dance in one amazing hour.  It's not an easy show to explain.  You just have to watch it and experience the magic for yourself.  :o)
Bonus Material: Glee Flash Mob
Happy Glee Day!!!
