This is the story of Corny...
Like I said yesterday, I really wasn't sure how I wanted to make my candy corn plushie so I decided to try two ways. The first became Kandi. Corny was a lot more experimental. I wasn't too sure what I was going to do until I was actually working on him. :-)
I ended up cutting a piece of white felt in the shape of a candy corn and then cutting the colored pieces out of felt and appliqued them onto the candy corn shape. Then I used a blanket stitch to close him up. I messed up a little bit at the end so there is a large space between the first and last stitch (eventually I WILL figure that out!) but overall I think it turned out pretty good.
I did the same for his face as I did with Kandi. I used black plush eyes and free-hand embroidered the mouth. This one came out a little crooked but I decided to leave it because I thought it gave him character...aka, no matter how much I changed the stitches it wouldn't be straight. So, he just has a crooked mouth. I kinda like it!

I have a couple more Halloween projects planned to share with you in the next couple weeks. After that I have to start getting ready for Christmas! EEKS! I should have started way earlier, but I really wanted to make some fun Halloween stuff, too. Somehow I'll fit it all in. :-)
See you tomorrow for My Morning Soundtrack!
