Coffee Time

Good morning!  How are you?  I didn't make it to my yoga class today but I do have lots of fun things planned so I'm not too sad.

Today I will:
  • finish one last sewing project before I list new items in the shop
  • list brand new items in the shop!!!
  • blog, blog, blog
  • buy craft supplies
  • put together fun giveaways for blogs I am sponsoring
  • start re-photographing items that are in the shop (I'm working on a portfolio and want to have amazing pictures...well better than I have)
  • Buy my dad's Father's Day present (Don't worry.  I know what I'm getting.  Just kind of waited til the last minute...oops.)
  • go see Hairspray at Zach Theatre with my mom (it was my Mother's Day present to her)
  • practice building chaturanga
  • sleep??  ;-)

But before I can do all of that...I think It's coffee time!

Oh!  Just a quick reminder...If you are participating in the In Your Eyes photo project don't forget to take a picture of something that makes your town special to you.  The deadline is June 27th.  Just email your pictures to dreamingincraft@gmail.com.

Have a great day!  Be sure to check back later.  I'll be posting my new items!

Yoga - Building Chaturanga

I haven't been able to go to as many yoga classes as I would like in the past few weeks because my schedule has been so busy but when I do go I love it so much.  I'm glad my fitness class has a day every week that's set aside for pilates and yoga so I can get a little yoga in even if I can't make it to a class.  It's my favorite workout of the whole week.

One thing I am still having trouble with in my yoga practice is chaturanga.  For some reason I can't seem to lower myself properly.  I did pretty good in all of the other poses we did in class yesterday but this one always gets me!  When I got home from class I decided to see if I could find any helpful videos so I can practice at home.  I found this video posted by Courtney.  She teaches at Black Swan Yoga where I have taken a couple of her classes so I was very interested to see it.

I'm going to work this exercise on the days I don't have a class and hopefully soon I'll be a pro a chaturanga!  :-)

Do you practice yoga?  Are there any poses you have struggled with?

Music Monday - Drew Smith

I love to listen to KUT on my lunch break during the week because I get to hear a lot of local music and artists I don't normally get to hear.  A couple of weeks ago I heard Squeezing the Elephants by Drew Smith and I loved it!  I immediately went to Twitter and asked KUT who it was (I was too impatient to wait and see if they said it after the song...they did).  I love that they actually answer tweets.  I have asked questions about artists a few times and and they always answer.  Awesome!

This is a video of Drew Smith singing the song at Momo's.

I have a really busy week coming up so I won't be able to photograph and list my new items in the shop until this weekend so I thought I would give you another sneak peek for now.  I'm working on a couple more projects that will hopefully be ready for this weekend so check back throughout the week for more peeks.  :-)

Have a great day!

Craft Party

Friday was Etsy's worldwide Craft Party!  I'm a member of Austin Craft Riot so I went to the awesome party they hosted.  I didn't get to stay long.  I wasn't feeling well.  I left work early on Friday because of it so I decided to just go for a little while.

I didn't get to try all the crafts but I did get to make a button

and a really cool upcycled t-shirt produce bag!  I love it!

They also had duct tape jewelry and The Wondercraft had screen printing.

There were lots of fun creative people there.  I enjoyed meeting some new people.  Hopefully next year I will be feeling better so I can stay and try out all of the crafts.  I love being a part of a such a great community of crafty people.  :-)

Did you go to an Etsy Craft Party?  What did you make??

I have been working on something new this weekend and I'm very excited to share it with you!

Here's a little sneak peek!

A Knitted Wonderland

Hello!  Sorry I didn't post yesterday.  I was exhausted after my fitness class and pretty much went to sleep when I got home.  So sad.  ;-)  Anyway, I'm back today with some video footage of A Knitted Wonderland.  Cameras followed Magda Sayeg through the whole project to document it and this is a little sneak peek that was released last weekend.

Tomorrow is the first annual International Yarnbombing Day.  Will you be yarnbombing anything?  :-)
