My New Philosophy

Some days I feel overwhelmed with everything I have to do.  I make a to do list and then it just keeps growing.  I started to make a list of things that have to be done eventually and then making a smaller list of things that have to be done that day so I don't have to look at an unfinishable list.

That's a good philosophy.

Lot o' News

Hello!  I'm just stopping by with a couple of things to share.  

I was featured on Darling Stewie this week!  I'm very excited!  You can find the post here.  If you need to add some cuteness to your day then Darling Stewie is the blog for you!  :-)

I dropped my plushies off at the Toy Joy Art Show yesterday.  The show starts tonight and runs through Sunday.  If you live in Austin you should stop by.  I got a peek at some of the other art in the show and it looks great!

I'm kind of nervous.  I don't know why.  I think I'm going to see the show on Saturday.  I'll let you know how it goes.  

Polly

I would like to introduce you to the latest addition to the Dreaming in Craft plushie family.

This is Polly the polaroid picture plushie.

This is one picture that you know will always be smiling.

This plushie was harder than I thought it would be to make.  I had to try to get the dimensions right so it took me a couple of tries.  I was originally going to give her a pink face but messed up on the first one and ran out of pink felt.  I remembered that my friend Maja said she loves yellow because it's a happy color so I decided yellow would be the perfect color for a happy polaroid.  I will make more colors in the future.  I may still make a couple of changes to the pattern and I'm going to add some cute little details to the next set but I think she turned out pretty cute.

Treasury - Button, Button...

Today's treasury is all about pin back buttons.  They're so fun!  I hope to have my own button press in the next few months so I can make some of my own.  I have so many ideas!  :-)  For now I'll have to settle for enjoying other button designs.  This is the first in what I'm sure will become a series of pin back button treasuries.  Enjoy!

Dreaming in Craft on Flickr

I have been really busy getting ready to apply for craft shows during the holidays and one of the things I had to do was to make an online portfolio for the shows to review.  I worked for two whole weekends taking and editing pictures and deciding which ones to use.  I was so excited with how it came out that I just had to share it.  :-)

It feels so good to have it all done!  It's nice to have this one place to refer people to where they can see my work.  Now I have it all ready to send out to people and it feels so nice to know that I only have to add things as I make new stuff.  It's hard when you start from the beginning. 

Do you have a flickr page for all of your crafts?  I would love to see it.  :-)

In Your Eyes - The Rainbow Connection

The first month of the In Your Eyes photography project was a great success!  I'm excited to try it again in July. This month's theme will be a little bit broader than last month to give you more freedom to be creative but it will still be fairly easy to get a picture. 

The theme for July is...

The Rainbow Connection!

All you have to do is take a picture of your favorite color.  If you don't have just one favorite color you can send in more then one picture...or go crazy and put it all in one picture!  After all, the theme is The "Rainbow" connection.  :-)

The deadline for emailing the pictures will be Friday, July 29th and the final post will go up on Sunday, July 31st.  If you can't get your picture to me by the deadline just send me an email and I'm sure we can figure something out.  Send all emails to me at dreamingincraft@gmail.com.

I created a set on Flickr where I will upload the pictures submitted every month.  I have added a button to the button section on the sidebar to direct you to the page.  Feel free to grab the code and add it to your blog to share all of the amazing pictures with your friends!
